What to expect at your consultation
Every consultation is an individual experience where you will be asked to provide information to allow us to evaluate your situation. Normally, we will provide you with a form to complete that will give us a general idea of the legal issue that is of concern to you. This information will be reviewed by the attorney prior to your visit.
A normal consultation is approximately one-half hour. You will meet with an attorney to review your situation. At that consultation you will typically make the decision as to whether you want us to represent you. It is very important to note that we are not your lawyer until you have signed a retainer agreement and paid your initial retainer fee. Any further contact after the initial consultation, if you have not retained us, is not to be relied upon as legal advice.
It is very important that you disclose all of the facts about your situation to the attorney – even if you do not think certain things are important or relevant. Failure to disclose important details could impact the recommendations of the attorney and potentially the outcome.
